KinClaw Mac

A native macOS dock for AI agents.

One floating window, one hotkey: ⌘⌥K. Three modes behind three tabs — chat with cloud agents, let KinClaw operate your Mac, or run a coding agent in a folder.

No download yet. A signed app and a DMG are waiting on an Apple Developer certificate, so for now KinClaw Mac is built from source; the steps are below. The changelog follows it day by day.

Three modes

Chat

Talk to LocalKin's cloud agents — Selah, Heal, Core and Faith — through api.localkin.dev.

Cowork

The local KinClaw kernel works on your screen through five claws: screen, UI, input, recording and web. You choose how far it may go — look only, ask first, or go ahead — and approve its calls inline.

Code

Claude Code and Codex in real terminals, each session kept with its folder.

Chat goes to the cloud; Cowork and Code run on your Mac. Same window, same agent picker, three different brains — switch tabs to switch modes.

Voice

  • Push-to-talk, or hands-free: the reply is spoken and the mic reopens when it ends.
  • Replies that mix Chinese and English are split and voiced per language, each by a matching Kokoro voice.
  • An optional wake word opens a conversation, which lapses 45 seconds after a reply ends (adjustable).

Companion mode

⇧⌘M turns the panel into a picture and a voice — no transcript, no buttons. Sentences are spoken as the model writes them, so the first words land about a second in; with headphones you can cut in mid-reply. The background follows what you are talking about, and with the optional digital-human module the face's mouth moves with the words.

Build from source

$ brew install xcodegen
$ git clone https://github.com/LocalKinAI/kinclaw-mac
$ cd kinclaw-mac && make run

make run calls xcodebuild and go build, so Xcode and Go need to be installed. It:

  1. Finds the KinClaw kernel next to it (or clones it)
  2. Builds the app with XcodeGen and xcodebuild
  3. Builds the kernel with Go and bundles it inside the app
  4. Signs both with stable bundle IDs, so macOS keeps your Accessibility and Screen Recording grants across rebuilds
  5. Starts the kernel on :5001 and launches the app

make doctor shows signing state and running processes — the first thing to run when something looks off. The kernel is KinClaw, also open source.
